The Comfort Inn at Shady Grove is JUST LOVELY! However, their beautiful new carpet in the hallways was outgassing so strongly that it made both me and my husband develop red faces, swollen eyes, and tons of hives on our foreheads and cheeks. The bedding may have had some sort of sprays or extra fire retardants (on the pillows), too; cause those also bothered us...just not as much as the carpet in the hallway. Otherwise, it was the most beautiful place! The breakfast nook was lovely, too, with plenty of food. For me, though, I was really grateful to have brought my own food, cause they mostly serve wheat products. This is NOT good for someone like me who has a wheat allergy! They did serve hard boiled eggs and offer oatmeal packets, too, though. The location is quite nice. The service was great. Free parking. Near to everything. If only the people in charge were more environmentally conscious, I would stay there every single time we visit our daughter! As it is, we got so sick from the outgassing toxins, that I doubt we will return again.

The room was clean and comfortable and the beds were nice and firm (so no sinking into the middle). Located in a nice suburban area with reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance. The shuttle service to and from the Metro Rail provided easy access to the D.C. area, though the shuttle was only available until 9 PM during the week. (Plenty of cabs at the Metro if you arrived later.) All in all a nice place to stay.

This is an excellent facitiy. The rooms are clean, the staff very friendly and more than heplful. The location is wonderful for those who want out of the hustle and bustle of DC. The shuttle service to the metro is an added incentive to stay here. We could not have asked for a better experience. We will stay here again.

The room was clean. Extremely quiet. TV good. Free High Speed Wireless Internet. The bed was so comfortable, I would have stolen it if I could have fit inside my luggage. (Just kidding.) But the bed WAS great. Bathroom clean... they even had a live plant beside the sink. Everything worked. Breakfast was free and good with fresh Belgian waffles, eggs, a good selection. They even had free shuttle service to the nearby Metro station. We were very pleased.

I was searching for the hotel with the lowest rate that I though would still be comfortable, clean, safe, and would include breakfast. I was able to get this hotel at a good rate for the area and it had some good reviews. We were not disappointed! Another traveler said it was the best Comfort Inn they have ever stayed in and I agree. The room was spotless, the king bed was firm but comfortable and had six pillows on it. There were hot items for breakfast, including eggs and waffles. The shuttle driver took us to the Metro station when we were ready, and picked us up at the end of the day, even though we just barely made the deadline for the end of shuttle service for the day (7 pm on a Saturday). We had no problems with the wireless Internet connection. We did not get a chance to try the pool or the fitness center. Next time, maybe--and there will likely be a next time. I would definitely stay here again if the price remains reasonable.
