Not nearly as clean as other Marriott's. There was no room service menu in the room. Took over 10 minutes for anyone to come to the front desk to check us in. Food in the dining room was gross....spaghetti was gritty and the meatloaf sat in my husband's gut like a rock for the next 24 hours. I travel a lot for work, and chose Marriott for this personal trip because we rarely get away from the kids and I didn't want to take any chances on surprises. Unfortunate choice!!!!!!!

Waterbury is not the loveliest place in Connecticut, but it is convenient, and this hotel is a better place to stay than much of what we saw there. The rooms are actually very nice, recently redecorated with comfortable bedding. The breakfast buffet is quite good, but ask at the front desk for a special breakfast rate - otherwise you will pay through the nose for it. Pool is nice for an indoor pool, but the spa needed some attention. Business center was horrible - one computer with one printer that only worked half the time. I was often lined up waiting to access the computer only to find that I could not print what I needed. Front desk personnel were uneven - some were very friendly, customer oriented and efficient, while others were completely unsuited to a customer service job - if you had a problem with something, they couldn't care less. We were a family of four staying for a week, and all week we were never given enough bath linens, despite asking for them almost daily. Despite the "Free Parking" amenity listing on the travel online website for this hotel, they do charge for parking (and didn't care that their listing advertised free parking). And the gates at the parking garage never worked properly. The attendant always had to manually raise the gate for us, which was a problem when he wasn't at his post. Overall, I would call this a nice hotel with a management problem.

I have never, in all my many years of traveling been so insulted as I was on my visit here. The hotel is a non smoking hotel which was fine with me even though I'm a very light smoker. Now they overcharged me for my room service bill and I pointed it out to the waiter when she presented the food and the bill to me. She said that they wouldn't rectify the bill so I did not leave a her tip. Next thing I know five minutes later I'm getting a call from the front desk saying that they are coming up to my room for an inspection because they got a complaint about smoke coming from the room. As I said earlier I am not a big smoker, maybe five or so cigarettes a day, tops. Now I don't smoke in my house so waiting is definitly not a problem for me. Well they insist that they smell smoke in the bathroom and wouldn't let me say too much too defend myself because of the fact that I haven't smoked in here. Then they tell me that I am going to be charged $250.00 for this. Now this is not my only issue with this place. Not only was the room very dusty and the wallpaper dingy, but under the night stand there was a crumpled up sheet of paper towel with god knows what dried up in it. It was very visible when I got in the room and went to go to bed, because I got in late. I would suggest to anyone thinking of making a reservation here to look elsewhere too avoid a vindictive and unproductive staff.

My boyfriend and I went to waterbury , Connecticut, and it was so fun... The hotel wasn't what i expected because they didn't have a jacuzzi in room like i thought it said before... Their was a indoor jacuzzi that wasn't working, and couldn't be used. The indoor pool was quiet and accomodating , but the water was pretty cold, although the worker said it was 80 degrees. the food in the courtyard marriott made up for everything.... I thought it was a shared bath, but it was a small bath tub in the room.
