The room was clean but worn and VERY basic. No pics on the walls even. Heater/AC unit worked but was loud. Coffee maker did not actually include a carafe, so if we wanted to use it we could not have. Bed was clean and comfortable. "Breakfast" was a joke - bad coffee and horrid gooey sweet rolls. Fine for a cheap place to stop over, which is what we wanted. I would not stay here more than one night though. Don't plan for a microwave and frige, although they were listed in the room description we did not have them. Had an iron though. Guess we could have made grilled cheese. Security very poor, all doors open all the time even at the back of the building and the bolt on our room was very difficult to throw.

We rented 3 rooms for 4 nights downstaris all at the same price in March 09. One room had microwave and a small refrigerator - other 2 rooms did not have these items. No hot tub or pool. Room 107 toilet was not stable - it tilted every time you moved. Light out in bathroom -room 111. Breakfast was continential (cold) very meager - apple juice, orange juice, coffee, toast, fruit pastry, froot loops and corn flakes with milk. Bathroom sink is very little - no space for toiletries. A/C units did not blow cold in all 3 rooms. Lots of noise from upstairs quests at night - running, slamming doors, every time someone ran water upstairs it was heard below. Front Desk personnel were friendly. I needed taxi service - they were clueless. I would stay again but short term - overnight.

This hotel is conveniently located on the south end of the main street in Rancho de Taos. It is very close to some good restraunts, businesses, gas stations, etc. While not in the heart of Downtown or the Plaza it is in a quiet area with easy access to everything. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and understanding. Room quality was very good as well, especially for the price. A great value, and an overall good experience. They also had free wireless internet access, satelite TV, and continental breakfast.

Water sprayed out of faucet. Broken furniture. No towels were left after day 1. Just doing some landscaping would be a nice improvement and renovating rooms would make this a nice place to stay. Maintenance is definitely missing.
