Not worth the price

Rooms were worn, almost dingy, beds not very comfortable. Our non-smoking room was okay, but mattresses were old as was the carpeting. Bathroom was clean but old, needs new paint and caulking. Sink faucet leaked, obviously for a long time. Smoking rooms were extremely smelly and dirty, dresser was caked with stale tobacco; hallways smelled of stale smoke. Breakfast was mediocre, mostly cakes from a factory-production bakery, some bananas and apples. Pool was small, but clean. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Internet connection died on Friday, was not restored until Monday when we were checking out. The single ice machine was also out of order the entire weekend. This is not an $**/night hotel, but rather a $**/night hotel charging $**. Overheard the manager saying he is new and plans to ""bring more quality"" to the property. He has a long way to go.

I gave the hotel 3 rate on all the facilities, but, gave it 4 overall. The cost and location factored in. I hope they add cereals during breakfast, the donuts were good, though. I'd stayed here again if need be.

You can tell the owner, a senior lady, takes great pride in her hotel. She was very pleasant to me, and I didn't even have a reservation. Very accommodating. Nice little continental breakfast in the a.m. Just what I needed! I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
