Staying 1-night in March 2009, I found this hotel to be fine -- (nothing like the previous (2006) reviews!). I have traveled all over the world and the US, thousands of hotel nights -- and the Days Inn Hotel at 7th & Blanchard in Seattle is as good as any in it's class. I would stay there again and would recommend it to anyone wanting clean average economical lodging close to the heart of Seattle. Sure it shows it's age (2-prong electric plugs); however it also shows evidence of current maintenance and care (paint, furnishings). My room and service was absolutely clean; my bed was excellent. Staff were courteous and responsive. Internet (eithernet-plug) was adequate. A morning paper was delivered to my door. It is located several blocks south of Seattle Center, in a low-density urban area, at the north-eastern corner of the downtown free-bus zone core. There is parking for cars ($10/day), with two pay-lots ($9/day) across the street. It is downtown -- both conveniently located and some rooms have the usual city traffic noise. (Ask right-rear (high-number) rooms). Registration Lobby is minimal (in the usual Motel style). The self-serve breakfast (in a previous restaurant-like lounge?) was plentiful and typical or better than many I've seen. There is a 24/7 Breakfast Cafe across the street and other restaurants within walking distance. Bottom line, for an economical convenient basic motel in downtown Seattle, the Blanchard Days Inn was absolutely clean, satisfactory and marginally above-average for me. --jim

Please what ever you do avoid staying at this hotel. There was an unidentified nasty stain on the ceiling. Blood on the sheets and it smelled moldy. Nothing was clean. Old does not mean it has to be nasty. Please book somewhere else like near the airport. Seriously.
