We stayed at this hotel from 8/23/09 through 8/26/09 and found the staff to be extremely helpful, actually willing to go out of their way to help us, from booking the room right through checkout. The Rio Grande breakfasts were great and the poolside bar was a very nice feature. The room was very clean. The location was great. Our only complaint was that the pillows were too soft and flat. Other than that, it was a great quick getaway and we will recommend this hotel to friends.

Would stay here again. Very clean & the staff was friendly & courteous. We got this room by shear luck. We were booked at another place just right up the road and it was a dump!!! and we paid more for that room. We were so very happy to have this one. We had a small deck and were located on the same floor as the pool. Had a very comfortable & enjoyable stay there. We definitely would stay there again!!!!

The old adage you get what you pay for could not be more accurate. To be fair the hotel was close to the beach and there was adequate parking. However the staff (not all but most) lacked personality and people skills of any kind. You always had to walk through a fog of smoke to get into the hotel and it was usually the staff sitting around smoking and complaining about co-workers and other guests-very unprofessional. The rooms were very dirty and smelled of smoke, food, and body odor. The dishes and utensils provided were dirty, the toaster and safe were broken and the clothes rack was falling out of the wall. Not to mention you had to ask to have the room serviced and they gave you attitude when you did. However, even though the hotel is located in a nice part of the city, the highlight had to be the two nights in a row when the police and paramedics showed up to retrieve a guest who was either intoxicated or had O.D. and the second night they were there for a stabbing that occurred in the hotel leaving a trail of blood in the stairway that we walked through on our way back from dinner with our 13 month old. Never Again!

I stayed here with a group of High School kids that were traveling for a sporting event. The kids were very well behaved but the people in the hotel ( staff and guests ) were the problem. I was woken up by drunk guests banging on my door at 4:30am. When I complained I was told, ""Sorry, we'll talk to them"". They have video of the event but all they would do is say sorry. The owner said if I had a further problem I should call him and he would take care of it immediately. When I checked out I found out that they charged someone else's room on my Credit Card. They said they didn't. I contacted my bank, they called the hotel and said they had the transaction in front of them. Only then did the hotel admit their mistake. They said they'd call me when they had refunded my money. They didn't call back to tell me they had done it. When I called to speak to ""X"" the owner, he wasn't in and ""XX"" who answered said that he'd give the message but X wouldn't call me back. STAY AWAY!!!!

Room was a nice size and it was great to have an efficiency room with children. The room is cleaned everyday. The beds are pretty hard and the room is dated. Blankets and Comforters are old and worn looking. We were close to the beach which was a definite plus with kids. They do have an outdoor shower but it is pretty cold. The pool was a perfect size and there is a nice little bar/patio to get food and drinks in the summer. The staff at the front desk could be a little more helpful, but you really don't interact with them too much. Make sure you call ahead of time to get a non-smoking room and the lobby smells of smoke. The rates were ok. I think that if they remodeled this hotel then they would be one of the better hotels for families. They are located on Feniwick Island and it was a quiet beach vs the boardwalk which we like.
