  Great location, close to airport and mall, but dingy rooms. They say they had been updated but it was done very cheaply. We couldn't get any extra pillows for the bed. There are a lot nicer places down in canal park but the Econlodge is one of the cheapest around.

  Booked a non-smoking room, arrived to find they would only give us a smoking room since we booked on-line. The room smelled so bad it took your breath away. Bed was old, sheets and mattress pad didn't fit. It was terrible. Will never stay there again.

  I booked through Travel agent, which was the first mistake (will never use Travel agent again). Booked a non-smoking room, when we checked in, was told basically too bad, there are no non-smoking rooms available. The room smelled horribly from smoke, the cleanliness was poor, poor upkeep in hallways, unable to open the window for fresh air. It was a disaster. The staff at the front desk said basically because we booked on line, they couldn't help us at all. Called for an iron and board, waited 45 minutes, no one came, went to front desk where staff was eating take out. Breakfast bar was rated poor also. I would never ever recommend this motel to anyone.

  I thought this hotel was overpriced but had no other options as everything else was booked. water pressure was bad. sink was dirty. the front desk staff was friendly.

  I've stayed at ""5-star"" hotels. econolodge beats them in room amenities and staff work and friendliness by far!
