About twice a year we visit my family in Merrillville and stayed at the Fairfield Inn. The rooms were decent, the staff friendly, and the breakfast quaint. But, recently we've noticed the rooms looking a little shabby, and the price jumped up dramatically. Not worth it for a price that is in line with other nicer hotels in the area. Also, we were given a ""King"" bed, that was barely a queen. It's unfortunate, since this used to be a gem, but your best bet is to try one of the other umpteen hotels in the area.
