I am a single traveling woman. I thought as this hotel was on a corner street right downtown it would be safe. Each time I went out there were bumbs standing outside asking for money. The hotel is very overrated. It has a restaurant and you can smell it throughtout the hotel all the time. The rooms were ok but nothing to get excited about. The hotel is on courner of the busyest street downtown so you hear the street noise all the time. Parking is across the street, you pay of course. Overall i was not impressed a bit with this hotel.

We had the misfortune of staying here 2 nights while working at the large hotel across the street (should have paid the extra price and stayed there). This hotel is on one of the busy streets downtown with street noise all night long. The room we had was above the restaurant and smeeled of burnt food all the time. The maid service was sub-par and when we complained to the desk clerk the answer was she had a bad day. Don't waste your money here stay at one of the other small hotels nearby or spend the extra money and stay at the Cook across the street.

We had a business meeting and party next door and we decided to stay downtown instead of driving the 15 miles back home at midnight. Should have taken the drive. We had never been inside the Voyager but had been told it is pretty good. It must be pretty good during the summer because it sure was not at this time of the year. Lots of noise from the street and the drunks in the hall. Bad smell from the restaurant in the basement, smelled like they had burnt the bread or something. The desk clerk was rude when we asked if they could hold the noise down.
Not our best hotel experience, will not be back -

This was our 3rd hotel in Anchorage during the past week. I have to say it was the best out of the 3, but that is not saying much. We were told it was the best small hotel in Anchorage, WRONG! The location is ok if you don't mind it being on the corner of a very busy street with road noise on both sides. If you don't mind the smell of the restaurant downstairs all night, then I guess it is OK. The rooms were ok but nothing special.
We get the impression that the Anchorage Hotels make the money during the summer and are just open in the winter to be open. The only good experience we had in Anchorage hotels were last summer at the smallest hotel in town, to bad it was full this time.
