Courtesy is a word this Hotels staff does not know. We reserved two rooms for the 5th of May,2009. My daughter picked the hotel for the swimming pool as the Grandkids love to swim. We could not use the pool till after 8PM as this rent it out to a local swim school. The pool is small and to deep for small children. Whatever we asked for at the front desk was answered with it is not possible. We had requested a room for an adult and two children and got a double made with two twins pushed together. I guess the tour bus was more important. They tried two charge us for breakfast which we did not order. In general, they are rude and this is a dark, dingy and worn out dump.

The Golden Tulip Lisse was one of the worst hotels we have ever visited in 40 years of travelling. Front desk staff was incredibly rude; the blond girl rolled her eyes when I asked for a hair dryer, told me it was in the bathroom. I said (politely) that I had not seen it. ""?t is there"" she said...guess what, it was not, rather it was attached under the desk! This is a bare minimum hotel, ugly inside and out, no amenities, and way overpriced. We booked a room for one adult and two children and got two beds pushed together. It was ""not possible""to add a bed or change, I was told, by a women who was so rude I could have slapped her. So I spent the night sleeping in the crack, for ?160 , not including breakfast. They did not care if I liked it or not. In the morning, they would not call a taxi for my father. They gave him a number and pointed at a phone. Then they tried to charge him for breakfast and argued about whether or not we had eaten there (we had not). We chose this hotel because it had an indoor pool and was near Keukenhof. But guess what? The pool is closed most of the time because they rent it for swimming lessons! So we could not use it until 19:45. They did not apologise, but told us we were misinformed about the pool times. This policy is not posted anywhere. Do not visit this hotel! It is the most unfriendly place I have ever been and gives a terrible impression of Dutch people. The only pleasant people in the whole hotel were the happy Polish maids. At least they smiled!
