Although the hotel itself barley scrapes by to meet the low standard that I would expect from a Crowne Plaza, my bad experience resulted after my stay. I stayed in a poolside room because I wanted to be on the first floor, since I was in town to run a marathon. There were some strange stains on the wall, and the handicap shower was strange, but I didn't mind terribly. I prepaid my reservation online through Travelocity because I hate having large authorizations held on my debit card. Upon checking out I found out that they had a hold on my account for well over three hundred dollers. I tried to have it resolved with my bank, but I had to call the hotel instead. The staff there refused to help me by calling my bank, so I had to do a lot of leg work to get the hold released. I understand hotel policy, but I will never understand two things about this. First, why would they hold that much money on a prepaid room? And secondly, why would they be so difficult when I asked for their help? Somehow the Crowne Plaza was able to hire all of the rude people in this typiclly friendly city. Never again will I stay there.

Arrived around 3:15pm and waited in the check in line for apprixomately 20 minutes before being told that no rooms were available and to try again in 30 minutes. Came back 30 minutes later and after much confusion by the front desk staff, was finally assigned a room. I had reserved a poolside room and I was assigned the last room before a gate that lead to the parking lot. I was very disappointed to learn that the parking lot gate didn't close correctly and that it was never locked. To make matters worse, the deadbolt in my room didn't work. As an added bonus, the toilet was extremely sluggish. I talked with the duty manager and requested a different room. He told me that none were available and offered to send maintenance to fix the toilet, the deadbolt, and the gate lock. Having no other options, I accepted. Maintenance arrived and looked at the toilet but it was just as bad after he left. No one ever looked at the locks and nothing was done in that regard. Since the room exited directly outside, I was concerned about my safety all night. On a positive note, the bed was quite comfortable. This, however, did not outweigh the problems and I would not stay here again.

Conveniently located, decent restaurants nearby, with a nondescript exterior but very nice and clean rooms in this remodelled hotel. Not much to do in the area, then again, it's OKC. Watch out for pricing on ONLINE TRAVEL WEBSITE. When booking, every price option came up "Sorry unavailable" until a new page appeared with prices $* higher. Upon arrival the hotel was deserted, less than 1/5 capacity, so the rooms were not unavailable but somebody was trying to make up the discount.

While the room itself was adequate, the carpet was disgusting! My little girl had to wash her feet after walking barefoot in the room. Room was very small and the pool was also not up to par with very murky,dirty looking water. Would not stay there again.
