The bed was comfortable enough, the room was clean and we were on the view side of the hotel on a high floor, something good, I suppose, if you enjoy urban landscapes.
The problem is that the air conditioning / heater system was the loudest piece of equipment short of a John Deer that I have ever had to share a space with. Calls to front desk asking for another room were answered with a ?all the rooms have the same air conditioning system.?
After a night of restless tossing and turning, ear plugs and soothing CD music we gave up slipping and just waited for the morning breakfast in bed. Although the service was friendly, the quality of the food was substandard. Cold scrambled eggs made with what looked like egg-beaters and glue, the wrong kind of toast, burned coffee without milk or cream and OJ from a carton of Minute Maid. The cost of this ?delight?? $39 with tax and tip. We could have had a quality, fresh, hot breakfast somewhere else for half that amount.
The Crowne Plaza may be OK if I travel for business and I am willing to put up with some of the inconvenience for the sake of proximity or whatever. But if you are looking for a place to stay for pleasure, the Crowne is not it. -

Extremely comfortable bed. Reasonably clean. Enormous hole in the carpet in front of the sink that had obviously been there a long time. (Why wouldn't management repair such an obvious and easily rectified flaw?) Colleagues complained of moldy bathroom and broken tile. Restaurant serves surprisingly good food and wine, although the wild salmon was ruined by careless overcooking. Great views of river and Philadelphia skyline on one side of hotel. HVAC was adequate and nice to have a window that opened.

This was the biggest disapointment. They put us in a smoking room, when we had requested no smoking. Had to be moved, all carpets stinky and ugly. The bathrooms were just horrible, with torn wallpaper and mould I guess. The room was dark and dusty. Not up to Crown Standards at all. I even talked to the manager and he was very rude. The fitness equipment was a joke, the treadmill had to be one of the first ever mfg. Dont know if this is privately owned or not. But it was trashy. Pool was closed. Entire hotel smelled musty and smokey. I dont think they really have any nonsmoking rooms. Outside photos are deceiving because when you get to the rooms you will be shocked

The Hotal was convenient to the Executive Plaza where my seminar was held. The hotal was clean but not too friendly. The front desk staff was pleasant but not overly. I had not ever stayed in this area so I would have liked tohave been asked some information regarding my reason for visiting. Maybe I could have learned about interesting places to see and enjoy.
The restaurant served a nice breakfast, little pricey, but good.
The overall impression I received from this hotel is they are more interested in large groups than individuals staying with them. -

At first appearence the hotel looks really nice. The beds were nicely made with lots of pillows and beds turned down. But there was mold in the bathroom in various areas as well as patchy wallpaper in bathroom.
