We don't get many opportunities to get away, and were really looking forward to our first trip to the Charleston area. Having stayed at Sheraton properties in other cities, and with online travel website 3-star rating, we certainly expected the hotel to be better maintained than it is. The ""non-smoking"" room did not smell fresh; there was a half-empty bottle of water left for us but no wash clothes, and the entire box of tissue was wet. After spending the first night of our 3-night stay, my husband had one thing to say for sure, which was ""whenever we come back to Charleston we will NOT be staying here.""

I would NEVER stay here again. The rooms were really shabby with yellowed aged bedsheets and bedskirts. Also, the tolet paper had already been used when we checked in. The worst part was the restaurant. We had a party of about 10 and it took 30 min just to get our drinks. Then about another 30-40 min after getting our drinks they started bringing the food out. I never got mine. After asking about my food ( and everyone else had already started eating) they came out and told me they didnt have mine. I ordered something else. It was atleast another 30 min before my food came out, by that time everyone else was finished. They never even apologized. I swear I will never stay at another Sheraton again.

On a business trip to SC, it would have been nice if the hotel would tell you right away the services available. Amerisuite is really far better than this hotel. The moment you checked-in, they will inform the guest all the services including free internet, breakfast, pool, and more. They will give you a sense of caring. Sheraton needs to improve on this.

This hotel is in an older part of town. There is nothing close to it. The pool needed cleaned. The gift shop was empty. Maintenance had to be called 2x to fix our air conditioning. Nothing was close by. I wouldn't stay here again. It wasn't worth the money.
