The front desk staff was friendly, but that was where the positives ended. The hotel itself needs remodeling. The decor is completely dated and shows it's age. The bedding, towels, etc were all of poor quality. The TV was ancient and grainy. The rooms are also dated and in need of renovation. There were several downed limbs from where they we cutting trees and landscaping. The pool was under repair, and not working. After asking some of the staff, we determined the pool has been closed for quite some time (not just that day). The breakfast was included and was acceptable (basic continental breakfast). I would not stay there again.

Chose this place for location and listed available Wifi. Agree with the prior comments about cleanliness and safety but could accept them given the price compared to nearby places. Inquired about wifi at check in and told it was only in lobby. A real bummer to begin with since it was a long haul up a flight of scary stairs and dark hallway to the lobby. Then wifi did not work at all. Was told ""I'll tell someone about it by desk clerk but she continued chatting with a friend. Another guest came in while I was there and had been treated to the same experience. Front desk not helpful in other ways as well. Asheville is very easy to get around in so don't be put off by a few mile drive to stay at a better place.

I should have left when I saw all the warnings about locking and securing everything. I mentioned the security not being the best and even the employees agreed it was an unsafe place. The coffee maker in the room did not work, and all we did was sneeze the whole time we were in the room. If I had not paid for this room in advance I would have left at 11PM when we arrived. I will be returning to Asheville monthly and you can bet this is not a place I will stay.

The hotel is old, all of the rooms are on the same level, and there is little to no lighting in the hallways connecting rooms. Nothing about this place seemed safe. As a guest, I was given one metal key to enter the doors connecting outside as well as a magnetic card-key to my room. The staff were nice enough, and the interior of the room was clean, though. I would recommend staying elsewhere nearby if you are in the area. You will pay the same rate most likely anyway.
