The BUDGETEL is the most disgusting and poorly managed "motel" in NC and probably all of the Southern region. The management is incredibly unhelpful and the premises are in seedy and deplorable condition. It was reported that there were VISIBLE bugs crawling in the bed & they did nothing about it. Not only was this place full of bugs but they didn't even bother to do general cleaning as our first room that we checked in to had a tub filled to the brim with dirty water with hair floating in it. Both rooms we were assigned to reeked of cigarettes despite them being labeled as non-smoking rooms. Several lights were burned out in each room. When they were called after we had left, I was informed that they had checked people in to the room with BED BUGS every night since the problem had been reported and no action was taken to resolve the issue. They knowingly checked people in to a room filled with BED BUGS! No refunds were offered. No action to remove the bugs was taken. There was no recourse with regard to the severe allergic reaction directly related to the bug bites. (Please research bed bugs so you have knowledge of what these things do, how difficult they are to get rid of and the scars they can leave. Then you will have a better idea of the horror of this trip!)

THIS PLACE HAS TOTALLY BEEN CHANGED. THE MANAGEMENT PUT NEW FURNITURE AND BEDDING IN EVERY ROOM. I WAS VERY AMAZED AT THE LOOK OF THE ROOMS. THEY LOOK GREAT. I WILL ALWAYS COME BACK HERE. VERY NICE STAFF.
