  It's definitely a lower end hotel - no concierge or bellperson type of place. It's not located in Zurich City as I thought - it's pretty far out actually. It's directly across the street from a train station though, so getting back to Zurich to catch our train to Milan just involved a short train ride (20 minutes). The location of the hotel on the Lake is just superb however, it's a very beautiful setting and if spending less money is important this is a great hotel. The restaurant on the 5th floor overlooking the lake is a must do for breakfast as the fog begins to clear - very beatiful.

  This hotel is not in zurich. it is in a suburb called horgen. horgen is 9 miles south from downtown zurich, so you need to take the train (sfr$7) ...

  This hotel is NOT in Zurich. It is in a suburb called Horgen. Horgen is 9 miles south from downtown Zurich, so you need to take the train (SFr$7) or taxi (SFr$40) to get there. Take this into account when you make the reservation. Breakfast (SFr$25) is NOT included.
