Bare bones hotel that appears very outdated. We requested 2 rooms for family trip. In one of our rooms, washroom was very small and old. When we first ran the water, it was yellow. Showers looked rusty. The other room reeked of smoke. Both my parents got terrible bed bug bites all around their ankles. We couldn't wait to shorten our stay and we found a much better hotel for slightly less price and good location!

When I purchased my one night stay at the hotel they didn't have the harbour view option. I made a note to ask about it, but was upgraded for free, without asking. The room was basic, but very clean and offered a spectacular view of the harbour. You will not be able to look away from the windows, if you get the harbour view. Its worth the price, if you're not upgraded.
The location is perfect for catching the Star Ferry, Avenue of Stars, shopping in Kowloon, etc.
Transportation is incredibly easy. You can catch a shuttle bus right outside the hotel or walk a block to the MTR. Star Ferry is cheap and can get you across the Harbour quickly.
The staff was helpful with any questions that we had. My only complaint is that they charge for Internet access and its not even wireless. There are a lot of places that offer free, complimentary access with faster speeds. Not really a major thing because there was always plenty to keep myself occupied. Overall, a great hotel, that will definitely be a staple for my hotel stay in Hong Kong.

I travel to Hong Kong 2-3 times per year for business. I prefer to stay on the Hong Kong Kowloon side of the harbor v. Hong Kong Island (Central). Often I bring other people with me for visits. This is our favorite place to stay for the price. It is very clean and has everything we need. It's a great location for sight seeing because it's across the street from the Star Ferry and Public Pier. Just out your door there's a Starbucks, MTR station and great shopping along Nathan Road and Harbor City Shopping Center is right down the street. If you choose a harbor view room then you'll have a great view for the Symphony of Lights show.

The hotel staff is extremely helpful, speaks English fairly well and will provide maps and information for almost anywhere you want to go. They have even upgraded our rooms for free for more than one of my visits. And also helped us greatly when the airlines lost our luggage.

    The only negatives:
There is a charge of $65 HKD (per visit) to use the fitness facility which has nice equipment. At some hotels this may be free. But again for the price of a room here, I don't mind paying this fee.
The beds are very firm. I'm from the U.S. and prefer a softer mattress. It's still possible to get a good night's rest here. I just wish the mattress was not so firm.

I chose this hotel because it was close to the cruise terminal. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The YMCA is conveniently located close to the airport express train station and the shopping area. I had a great time in Hong Kong and I would stay here again. This hotel is CLEAN, and basic and inexpensive. THe breakfast was good in the resteraunt. I only stayed for one night and was not looking for an expensive and poosh hotel. To sum it up. This hotel is Basic, Clean and has excellent service in an excellent location!!!! It is very close to the HK cultural center, the avenue of the stars, the Star Ferry.and subway. Getting around in HK is very easy.

Dont let the hotel name discourage you this hotel is in a perfect location 3 mins to the Star Ferries to HK island, 5 mins to the u/ground station and Nathan Rd shopping. Room prices are very good for this prime location. We had a basic room on the 13th floor with a side view of the harbour . The two dining rooms are pleasant with varied menues. The swimming pool is reasonable size but since it is a YMCA it can be busy. The staff were all very helpful and overall we had a great 5 day visit. We will definitely stay again.
