Hotel was much better value for the money than other 5-star hotels I've visited. Great location, staff, pool, rooms. Right on the River walking distance to many hotels and a riverside shopping mall. Staff arranged day tour to Tangalooma island for entire business party.

I am wondering what sort of awards this spa actually won because it certainly was very far from other five star experiences I have had. I visited with my mother and we booked for a body wrap, massage and High Tea. Apart from waiting for ten minutes to be seen to, the robe I wore was on the shabby side, the footwear was plastic and slippery because it was damp, the room I was in was dirty (dust on the louvres and wax on the ground) and cold. When I asked the beautician for a blanket, I was handed a thin towel and shivered throughout. Massage was good but the beauty service was very, very average - and quick. Tea took place in the pool area which was being used by several children all jumping and playing about. As we ate, we were splashed and the champagne was warm. I could go on but for me the picture was clear: this is not a spa. It's not even close to a beauty salon and I am very surprised that this beautiful hotel has something as below par as The Dome Retreat in it. Certainly would not happen in my country!!!
