I was a bit worried what we would find when I read the other reviews of this hotel. However, I was pleased to find a friendly and helpful staff. was more than helpful and very friendly. We stayed two nights and our boy loved the pool area. Saturday was a bit more eventful than the night before but upon asking there was a swim meet and a science fair going on that weekend. I thought they were great rooms for the price we spent and we had a wonderful weekend. The location is close to just about everything, food, stores, and even a State Park. Strouds Run was just down the road from everything and easy to find. Our only complaint stems from the people staying there. The people above us sounded like a herd of cattle, and the noises seemed to echo down the hallways. We went to Wal-mart and bought a fan for the second night we stayed and it eliminated quite a bit of the noise. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We were in Athens, OH to visit the OU campus. The hotel was close to the campus and after reading the reviews (which I always do) we booked here. The first room I was given had no working air conditioner. The person at the desk was very nice and changed rooms right away after he went up to make sure it was working. Upon entering the room there was no coffee pot, no toilet paper holder, no soap or shampoo. The shower was recently patched very badly. There were two huge patches in the shower that looked as though they may have been still working on it. It looked nasty. There was something very red on the wall under the sink. The stairwell had a musty smell. The staff were all very nice. Breakfast had the addition of hot waffles with strawberry sauce which was excellent, but, the rooms need to be updated for the price that they charge.
