Would not Stay here-Unless it was free (comp)

The Front desk and Managment Staff needs Customer Service training. We had reservations book by the Casino for a Comp room. We had to wait for over an hour beause they claim not to have the reservations and said the hotel was book. Instead of them calling the Casino I had to call and have the Fax my reservations over to them. I had to make two calls because they claim it had not arrived. The Casino faxed it twice and it was settled on the fax. If we had never went back up to the desk to check on the fax we would still be setting there. Room Not to Cean: We were giving a room with joining doors. We moved the sofa to place it at the door and found a large pice of fudge candy that look as if it was a year old. I left it there so the cleaning people could see that they are no doing a good good of cleaining. Would only stay here again if it was free (comp) would no pay to staff her much better choices in the area.

This was a great buy! Rooms are spacious and very clean! Our room actually had a patio with chairs for watching the mountain sunrise and sun set! I was nice here and didnt break the bank! I was impressed! The free breakfast was decent, there could be a better variety of cold cereal but for the most part it was good and the eating area was nice and clean.

UNSATISFACTORY~

We checked in late, therefore asked for late checkout the next morning (mindyou we stayed in a $119.00 room) The most they would give us was thirty minutes extra. We got settled in to find that we could not call out of the room to check on our children. The nightclerk suggested we come to the main building to use the pay phone at 11pm. (our room was reserved and paid for with a credit card). We came back from the casino and wanted a shower to wash the smoke smell off of us and found no shower curtain so we called the night clerk and he said he could not get us one. There was no remote for our tv, and a dirty ashtray in our non-smoking room. This hotel is staffed with an incompent Manager who was not there when we checked out and has yet to contact us back after several phone calls and an email. Considering we didn't even recieve an apology from front-end staff, Simply a "well there's nothing we can do about it since the manager isn't here." Well it has been 3 days and it seems this elusive "manager" hasn't returned.. .

If you desire quiet, then this hotel is what you want. The private patio at back of the suite overlooked the river and was a peaceful, scenic setting. I was very pleased with the accomodations. The clerks at the desk were helpful and check-in and check-out was accomplished in an expedient manner. I will stay at this hotel again the next time I visit Cherokee.
