Upon checking in I was told we were given a smoking room. That's where I made my mistake. I didn't realize how permeated with smoke the room was. Also, the laundry area is just an area. The washer and dryer rain well into the night. There was a breakfast included in the price, but we overslept after being out late with friends that live in Erie. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly. We didn't notice brown water, but were advised if we did to let the water run for awhile. It supposedly is well water. We chose to wait until we got home to shower and absolutely did not drink the water.

The hotel is not the cleanest, needs a more thorough cleaning between customers. We rented 2 rooms for 8/2-8/4/09. The one was fine, however, room 227 had problems with the door keys- one wouldn't work at all and the other one worked some of the time. We took them to the front desk and they "re-programmed" them the 1st night we were there. The problem persisted. The following day, we went to the front desk again and they were again "re-programmed". The keys never did work correctly. it was inconvenient as we had to plan our coming and going so no one was locked out of the room. The reasons we were given was only certain workers can program the keys, the girl that re-programmed them is new, sometimes the keys act up like that. When I complained about the inconvenience, they were unconcerned. Also, the fitness room smells like old socks and sweat, no matter what time of day or night/

Everything looked and felt dirty. To say the water was discolored is a gross understatement. No matter how long you let it run, it countinued to look brownish-orange. Given that the sheets and towels were also a white-turned orange-brown, it's a long-term problem. The bathroom had hair and the walls had scummy stuff. Nothing had been lifted up when dusting occured as there was dust under and around everything. And they had problems with the pool (Which was somehow actually clear water) so it was delayed in opening. On a positive note, the staff truly was friendly.

I thought the hotel worked well for us. We were able to eat breakfast in the morning, and take off for the event at the college, which was about a 5 miles drive. I would probably stay there again.

Not the best hotel in the area, unfort. everything else was booked. Bathroom door didnt close, Room door was very loose and seemed like it could be pushed open easily without a key, water was yellow in bathroom and pool area...NOT staying here again
