Everything was great, except for the hair dryer. It worked perfectly -- but it is made so that you must hold down the ON button on the base on the wall while drying your hair. I, for one, usually hold the dryer in one hand, and a brush with the other hand. Just being able to blow air onto my wet hair won't do it for me. So, while everything else was perfect, take your own hair dryer if you style while you dry.

The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff had everything ready and all I had to do was check in. The only issue I had was the coffee / breakfast closed at 9am and they did not have it available in other areas. I did not try to use the coffee maker in the room as it was a 4 cup maker and one pack of coffee. Take your own! Overall it was a nice place to stay.

Rooms were clean, staff was pleasant, and Maggie Valley is just enough off the beaten path to be convenient, yet quiet. We stayed there for just one night, but it was a pleasant stay. If you are in Maggie Valley for dinner, be sure to check out J. Arthur's Restaurant just down the main drag. The food was excellent, the portions were large, and the staff was very pleasant. It was a very rainy night, and the atmosphere was quite cozy... can't imagine how it must be at night or around Christmas. There is one thing about the location. if you are thinking of driving to or from Cherokee at night, the road is quite treacherous. We went to the 'Unto These Hills' performance (highly recommended), and then drove the 15 miles back to Maggie Valley in the rain (hotels are cheaper and less crowded in Maggie Valley). It was a bit of a white-knuckle trip in both directions. If Maggie Valley is your destination for the evening, then the location is perfect.

11/15/2006For the money, the motel was a 5 star rating. very clean, a beautiful stream right off your balcony. staff very helpful with locations, etc. i will be back!
