Personal service excellent. Had roadside room and hotel upgraded us to Dune view and we could actually see some of the surf. Hotel clean and the Peppercorn Restaurant food was good. My Major disappointment was the 3rd day there the hot tub was "Temporarily out of order" and the pool was not quite warm enough. We ended up staying one more night..total of 6. When you book a hotel because of Hot Tub and Heated Pool this time of year when weather is too cold for beach,,,that was disappointing. We just called downstairs to rebook room for 1 night...feel Travelocity would have given us a better price. So totally satisfied with Travel online. As we drove up, we saw this nice motel and though this is going to be good. But when we checked-in, the clerk did not say you do not have a ""ocean view"" or not. We had made plans on-line thinking we did have an ""ocean view"" room. Anyway, we got our key and went to the room, looked out and saw only a parking lot. Went back to the front desk and asked the clerk about our room, and he said that it would be $ more for an ""ocean-view"" room, but they were all gone. At the price we paid, you would have though it surely was a room with an ""ocean-view"" @ $/night, compared with Myrtle Beach @ $/night with an side ""ocean-view"". But what we paid for a parking lot view, it was a bit much, really.

The non-smoking room smelt like an ash-tray. The pillows stunk. The maids were rude, and the carpet had not been changed since '72. We paid a premuim price and would not go back. The hotel had so much potential to be pleasant, but no effort was exibited by the chain. I would suggest to aviod this place.

The non-smoking room smelt like an ash-tray. The pillows stunk. The maids were rude, and the carpet had not been changed since '72. We paid a premuim price and would not go back. The hotel had so much potential to be pleasant, but no effort was exibited by the chain. I would suggest to aviod this place.
