I've stayed at this property on many occasions when traveling to Carbondale for SIU alumni-related events (reunions, meetings, Homecomings, etc.). Yes, it's an economy property and so there are few amenities. However, the staff is friendly and attentive, the rooms are clean, and, as an SIU alumna, I receive a discounted rate. There's no riff-raff hanging around and, as far as I can tell, there are no long-term guests (residents) like you might find at other inexpensive properties. If you need a place just to lay your head for a night (or two or three), you can't go wrong here.

We had used different travel service to reserve a room in a different hotel for our son's Graduation--but it was terrible so we went to Super 8 and they quickly got us in one of the last rooms available. It was clean and comfortable. Not luxurious, but we just needed a place to stay. The room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. It was perfect for our overnight stay, we were able to enjoy the TV, hook up to the free wireless internet, and there was a free breakfast in a very small area of the hotel. As I said, perfect for just an overnight stay, when you have other places to go on your agenda.
The staff was VERY helpful in getting us in quickly, after we had a very bad experience elsewhere. -

I was pleasantly surprised at the large room but to have a fridge was so nice. The room was clean & I felt so comfortable & secure. It is located across from the mall and various diners that you can walk to. The staff was so friendly and we enjoyed our stay.
