We go to Coeur d'Alene a few times a year to pick up our grandaughter. we have stayed in several places there, but don't even check the other places anymore. It's not a palace but the rooms are clean, the people very friendly and helpful, and good breakfast. the best part is it's much cheaper than any other place in town. we have stayed there the last five years.

We had never stayed at a Super 8 before, but the town was about booked up for the Ironman Triathlon so we took what we could get. Be forewarned that there's no elevator and we were, of course, on the third floor. The room was dingey and worn, the towels were skimpy and we had to trek downstairs and beg each day for an extra one. The bathroom wall was so filthy that even my husband noticed it and was moved to wipe it down ;costing us one of those precious towel;. The first time I flushed the toilet it overflowed; called the front desk and the young woman there was mystified as to why I'd bother her about it. she said I could come down and get a plunger if I wanted to. No, apparently there's no service at all included in the room rate; Ultimately a manager type appeared and took care of it, apologizing nicely. But the young thing at the desk continued to be hostile throughout our stay. Never could get the wireless to work. Overall, an extremely unpleasant stay.

This hotel was one of the cheapest ones in the area. They had free breakfast available, cheese/egg omelets, danish, english muffins, cold cereal, coffee, juice. The beds were comfortable and the staff was available. We only shower and sleep in our rooms when we travel so the extras in the room are not as important to us. There was an iron/board in the room. The TV reception was excellent.
