Over my 15 years of research at the National Archives, I have tried all of the budget hotels in the area. Some of them are down right scary. The Super 8 is probably the most consistently acceptable hotel. Yes, there are occasional lights that don't work or a TV problem, but the hotel is generally fairly clean. All rooms are internally accessed which makes most travelers feel safer. Enterprise Rent a car is across the street. Budget restaurants are close by. The continental breakfast is not much, but there is a family restaurant next door for a hearty breakfast at a low price. This is not a large hotel, so book early. Don't expect a pool, exercise room, or lavish lobby. This a place to sleep.
