I travel often between St Louis and Green Bay, and stop frequently for a night along the way. I found my room to be far below standard for the price I paid. It didn't even have a bathtub. The pool and hot tub were cold and the pool area smelled of gas. The front desk staff was very inefficient and the manager was inconsiderate and rude. I will most definitely not stay at this hotel again and would not chose this chain again unless it were the only option.

I was too scarred to drive any further because of a dangerous ice storm while attempting to drive home from Delavan to Brown Deer and decided to get off the freeway in Mukwonago. Mukwonago is my hometown and so I'm familiar with the roads and saw the Sleep Inn signage from the Freeway. The parking lot had a layer of ice and I slipped and had to crawl from the very southwest corner of the parking lot (it was the last parking spot left) to the door as it was literally to slippery to be able to get back up and walk. I work out nearly every day and work outdoors regularly as I'm an environmental scientist so I'm use to snow and ice, but I just couldn't even stand to walk. I got into the hotel and told them about the shape of the parking lot and got absolutely zero concern from the hotel manager - you'd have thought they she have at least offered me a towel to wipe off the water and ice - I was freezing! At any rate long story short they refused to allow me to stay - even though I had cash to pay because I didn't have my drivers license on me. It was in my car but I wasn't about to walk through that parking lot and back again to the hotel for their idiotic hotel policy. I have looked through Wisconsin Administrative Codes relating to hotels and have found no law requiring that hotels take your drivers license. This was by far my most humiliating experience to be treated the way I was.

Front desk tried to put us in a smoking room, or charge us $* more for non-smoking room, after calling Choice Hotels, we were put in a room with a dirty bathroom, light didn't work in the shower, carpet not vacuumed and very stained sheets. Didn't eat the cheap breakfast of white bread, cold cereal, watered down orange juice and coffee with grounds. Had a wonderful breakfast at the coffee shop across the street FRONT DESK VERY RUDE & UNFRIENDLY.
