Five minutes after 9:00 am my wife and I come to the main office of the travelodge in Kingman, Arizona. I notice that most of the breakfast has been taken away but the cups and juice dispenser were still available. I get a cup from the counter with the intent of drinking one small styrafoam cup of juice. A large woman around 55 years old with a gray, butch-style hair cut interjects with a quick and flat: "It's past 9 O'clock." The previous night at the travelodge I could hear other travelers through the floor in our downstairs unit...every foot-step, the television, and talking (very thin flooring). Only a few of us stayed there that night, so why on earth assign someone a room right above us? I kind of figured that question out the very next morning when inadvertently introduced to old butchy. Those that work at this particular travelodge do not have the best interest of the customer in mind. The morning attendant with the butch haircut and flat affect expressed only one thing...she needed our hotel access cards. I gave them to her half expecting maybe a kind word especially after she wouldn't allow me a cup of O.J., but instead, after I waited two seconds for another word from her, I get a blowoff response of "That's all.," and "We're done." Basically she wanted my wife and me (her customers) out of her butchy hair. Maybe it's just my opinion that people who work in a customer service type of job should be interested in customer satisfaction by showing at least some small form of courtesy. Unfortunately, I did not get a name for the travelers who decide to stay here although I feel that the description will help others avoid this not nice lady.

Upon arrival, the staff was really nice. We arrived 2 hours before normal check-in time and the clerk still allowed us to check into our room. The clerk also changed our room to a 1st floor room from a 2nd floor. THe clerk also called down to the room to let me know that my son had forgotten his Thomas movie inthe lobby during check-in. The room was clean, with the exception of the two hairs in the bathtub. The beds were comfy, the linens were in good repair and the AC cold. It is obvious the hotel is older, but that the staff has attempted to keep the hotel in good repair. It is still showing its age a bit, especially in the bathroom. There is wireless internet available at the hotel, but a really fast connection is available through the truck stop across the street. The truck stop across the street (Flying J) has cheap gas and a decent restuarant. K-Mart is also across the street. One exit up (going west) has a Walmart, Cracker Barrel, IHOP, Golden Corral and variuos other places. The staff was exceptionally friendly. While I waited in the car with the kids (3 busy boys) for my husband to check out, one of the clerks came up to the car to ask if she could give us a box of snacks for my boys (rice crispy treats, cinnamon rolls, muffins and juice) for the road. Upon my approval, she brought a box of treats for the boys to eat on the road. All in all, we would stay here again.

I was stranded in Kingman and this is the first hotel that I went to. The price was fair and the staff was absolutly wonderful. I was there for about a week on my first stay and for 4 days on the second. I had to take the train home in between. Rooms are clean and I felt safe there day and night. I would stay again.

Nice place to stay. Large rooms, refrig, microwave, expanded cable service. Linens good, nice amenities. Free breakfast--limited choices but soon to expand. Friendly, helpful staff. Second building available (later addition) set back from road, quiet. Outdoor pool, indoor hot tub, did not investigate. Busy location, but walking distance to Arby's, Denny's, Basha's supermarket. Good value when under $70.
