Not Dog Friendly/Not Helpful
07/29/2008We booked this hotel because they said they took dogs. we even called to inquire to make sure we could get a non-smoking room with the dog. when we ...
We booked this hotel because they said they took dogs. We even called to inquire to make sure we could get a NON-smoking room with the dog. When we got there they said we could only have a dog in a SMOKING room. We asked for a luggage cart. Counter help said there should be some out in the parking garage. There weren't. When we asked she said that somebody must have taken them up in there room. No help. When we got to the room it stunk so bad of smoke we had to leave. They were not helpful in solving our problem so we said we wouldn't stay here under these circumstances. There are many better choices in town. We went to the Sleep Inn down the street and they took our dog in a nonsmoking room with no extra charge. Counter help was outstanding. Facility is much nicer with easily accessible parking and area to exercise our dog.

This little place is amazing! The staff are very helpful and the rooms are beautiful. the weather was really bad and our van was toasty out of the snow storm. The Cafe made us crazy from the smell of their fresh baked bread and pastries. when we come back to the Sault we will tell everyone to only stay at the Travelodge. What a JEM of a place!

I would recommend this hotel not only because of its great location (right by the waterfront with all its attractions, but also just across the street from the city's largest shopping mall) but also because of its nice rooms and friendly staff. And, they have a small restaurant on the main floor that features ""home cooking"" and serves up delicious breakfasts and lunches. Underground parking was also a nice feature, even though it is a secure or patrolled lot.
