  • Worst Resort I've Stayed At

We knew right away we had made a mistake - we arrived around 3pm, unpacked and went searching for food. The only on-campus food available was hot dogs and hamburgers at the 'water park' grill, and the hot dog, which was supposed to come with toppings, came with nothing and tasted sweet? Next we scheduled a cab to take us into town an hour before we intended to leave - cab never showed, we waited an hour at the hotel bar, which had no bartenders - they didn't know any mixed drink except for the pre-mixed drinks. We finally decided to go to Rose Hall Shops which runs a shuttle back and forth to the hotel - it's 8 jewelry stores, two cafes with sandwiches and coffee, a cigar shop, and a t-shirt shop - still none of the famous Jamaican Jerk Chicken to be found. We ate dinner at the Italian place on the 1st floor the next night - it was horrible. The fried calamari & shrimp was obviously frozen and the oil in the fryer had not been changed in a long time (experience speaking here) - it was chewy, dark brown, and just disgusting. The $40+ dollar steak was mediocre at best. The single asparagus spear was very tasty and made me want more. Went off campus and had some great food at Scotchies (not far away, but a hole in the wall, literally), and even better at the Pork Pit (MoBay near Margaritaville). Except for the two guys manning the Hobie Cats (which were fun to sail) and a great waiter at the "water park", the rest of the staff seemed to be inconvenienced by my presence. Their is not much else to do on the resort either.

My sons and I just got back from our family vacation. They enjoyed themselves that they wanted to stay longer than 7 days we were there for. My sons spent the entire time at the water park. They enjoyed the slides and just being in the pool. I spent my time mostly on the beach, then I would go over to enjoy myself also at the lazy river at the water park. We even tried windsurfing. The staffs are very friendly and accommodating to whatever you want or need. There is also a teen room were your children can go and enjoy themselves with different video games and movies to watch. The meals were different everyday and if there was something you wanted extra, the staff would get it for you. I have travel to different island and is originally from Jamaica, but I must say that this is the first time I really enjoyed my stay to this beautiful island and would go back to this resort.

Had the Premium All Inclusive rate which includes alcohol, the fine restaurants and a service charge. Had to pay for nothing additional other than spa treatments. Staff from the bellboys to the bodyguards were very friendly and courteous. Food was great and there was something for every taste. Both my son and I totally enjoyed the water park which is a real treat and suitable for all ages. Will definitely return again!

First time to Jamaica and we were a bit disappointed. Staff not very friendly. We had an ocean front room and thought that would be great, but, the music from either a wedding or the nightly entertainment was so loud it seemed like they were playing outside your room and it went on each night till 11:00. Food choices were basically the same each and every day and night. Very bored with the food and spouse was sick twice. We had the all-inclusive package and were disappointed that we had to pay for bottled water. Went to the Italian restaurant one night and had a nice meal, but, again we had to pay over an above the ""all-inclusive"" price to get steak or shrimp. On the positive side, the waterpark was a fun treat for the kids. Overall, trip was ok, but, there are many other true all-inclusive places to stay at that are much nicer and friendlier.

Okay! My experience was worth the trip. I paid $ for the all inclusive Gold package & that included roundtrip air, which I booked through a travel agent. The food was good & the staff were friendly. Upon arrival I was upgraded 2 an ocean view from the resort view but I still had a view of both & all with no extra cost. The only problem I had was that a family w/kids moved n 2 the room next 2 mine & they were loud & unbearable, the reception desk promptly moved me @ my request. The excursions were worth the money spent. I did the Canopy tour 2 hours, Horseback riding 2 hours u can also ride the horse while he or she swims, ATV 2 hours, Day n Negril 10 hours which included Ricks cafe 4 the sunset & jumping off the cliff 4 the totally insane lol, I also did snorkleing and jet skiing while @ the beach n Negril. 4 all this I spent approx $300. I really enjoyed myself and I would definitely return. 1 thing they should change is that there are no vending machines 2 get snacks after 11p or drink after 2a. If u want premium alcohol u must pay 4 the platinum all inclusive. But the house brand is just fine.
