If you are looking for a traditional experience in Kyoto, with all the amenities of ""today"", The Ana hotel is for you! The buffet breakfast offered many Japanese as well as Western style choices. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff jumped to help you in any way possible. Definitely a 5 star!! The concierge gave us many options on places to go, but gave us the ""don't miss sites"" and we were blown away! Kyoto is rich in Japanese culture and residents were very friendly! THE only thing I didn't like was the admittance fee to the pool. I thought that should have been included in the price of the hotel. Traveling with children, that is almost a MUST.

We had a great experience here. We liked the location, the rooms, and the staff though fewer spoke English here than at our Tokyo hotel. We even had the dinner buffet at one of the hotel restaurants which was very reasonable, quite extensive, and delicious with everything from steak to sushi to Chinese favorties.
