The Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield was a very convient place to stay. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is within minutes of several dining locations. It is close enough to the outlets in Lee and skiing.

I had low expectations for this hotel, having passed it by for years on the way to points north. But a last-minute decision to go to the Berkshires on peak foliage weekend made it a necessity. It's a pretty homely place on the outside, but very nice on the inside, with well-appointed rooms, very trendy-looking restaurants, decent gym equipment and a very nice view overlooking the Berkshires and the town green. The Executive rooms were not large at all, but if you're a business traveler you'll feel right at home, and the complementary breakfast simplifies touring plans, with a nice warm food buffet and menu choices. The staff was very friendly and attentive, both at the front desk, where D__ took very good care of us and helped us to extend our stay a night as soon as possible, and in the restaurant, where the help was genuinely helpful. Two main downsides: parking, which costs an extra $* and does not provide extra security (lot is open) and the room fixtures - not shabby, but showing signs of age. Compared to your average roadside motel this is a very comfortable, modern and professional place to stay, away from the tourist strips and with in-town museums a few steps away. Glad we stayed!

My sister and I stayed here in Feb./March 2008, and really enjoyed the hotel. We were indoors a lot because it was cold, but the hotel staff and services were terrific. Everyone was very friendly (Pittsfield as a city has a very comfortable small town atmosphere). We ate in the hotel several times, and the food was excellent. Servers were friendly and helpful. The room was immaculate, and the mattresses and pillows were super comfortable. Nice mountain view out of the window.Tourist info was readily available, even for non-skiers. The cleaners and maintenance people inquired if we needed anything and if we were enjoying our stay. One night I ate alone in the bar-like "Underground Pub" but received great food and very kind service, even though the table I had chosen meant a lot of extra steps for the friendly bartender and server, who both came to check on me. We hope to come back soon, bringing our families. Thank you very much.

The day befor we got there they had a ice storm. The driveway was not sanded at all. At least 4 people fell. When we booked the room with the hotel we were not told that there was a parking fee. Ok it is only $6.00 but it was a surprise when I got our bill the day we were leaving.

This hotel has a lot to offer. Probably the nicest in the area for the price. The beds are quite comfortable! The hotel is older but is in pretty good repair. The location is perfect in downtown Pittsfield. Parking will cost an extra $6.00 per night. The breakfast buffet leaves alot to be desired. The same everyday. DRY eggs, hard or soggy french-toast and pancakes. Can't get a second cup of coffee to save your soul! Room service was never the same. The menu states a nice breakfast but be prepared. The peserves are the bottom of the line plainlabel jelly. (If they remember your toast-if they remember to even bring the butter and jelly) If you order oatmeal, that will be all you get!! The room service just doen't match with the wonderful help at the front desk. Dine in the restaurant and try the salmon. It is great!
