Rude staff/Smelly Room

I was very dissatisfied with this hotel. We were placed in a basement room, down a long flight of stairs and a long hall. There was a dehumidifier out side the room (not a good sign). The room had a musty smell that was being covered up with a lot of airfreshener, it was making us sick. When we went to complain about the long trek down the stairs and the bad smell the manager started to argue with us, saying that is why we got the rate we did. He said he didn't care that it was hard to walk down all the stairs with a leg injury. He told us that even if we leave he would still charge us for the room. I called my credit card company to dispute the charges. They said I was free to leave and would not be charged for the room. We ended up staying across the street at the Best Western. I was a little more expensive, but it had a nice staff and clean fresh smelling rooms.

07/24/2008Staff very accomodating and friendly. older but upkept very well. actually took pictures of lobby entrance because of the beautiful flowers/plants. away from pool area was an outdoor patio. ...
Staff very accomodating and friendly. Older but upkept very well. Actually took pictures of lobby entrance because of the beautiful flowers/plants. Away from pool area was an outdoor patio. 6 a.m. better than average continental breakfast. 1 minute from Rt 90 5 minutes from entrance to Badlands. 30 minutes to Rapid City.

07/01/2006Nice big rooms, good variety of breakfast items, not just continental style, friendly & helpful staff at hotel. wireless internet not good at all.
