Motel being redone. We had a new rug, room looked nice, triple sheets on beds, nice touch. I feel that motels in this area are overpriced, on a very busy highway and isolated from Evansville. Good breakfast and tasty cookies in the evening. Overall satisfied.

My family stayed at this hotel last month because we are looking to move to the Evansville area. The lady that checked us in & out was very friendly. The lady at the breakfast bar kept the area clean and stocked and offered to help me & my 3-year old back to our room with our breakfast. When I told her that was not necessary, she went and got a plastic Holiday Inn Express bag and gave it to my son to put milk in it. He smiled soooo big because he was being a "big boy" and helping out. The hotel was going through renovations but was very clean and the staff very friendly.

Beware travel soccer teams!

This hotel's website states that ""our guest is our first priority"" I would have to say that this clearly is not the case. We traveled to Evansville in November for the Veterans Day soccer tournament with our 18 year old son's travel soccer team. Numerous other soccer teams were staying at this hotel as well as this tournament mandated that you stay in one of their tournament-designated hotels (which is the norm these days) What isn't the norm, is that the tournament was rained out very early on Saturday morning. We had prepaid for 2 nights and canceled the Saturday night rooms by 9AM Saturday morning. This hotel refused to reimburse us for the second night even though we only stayed one night. The tournament hotel director told us that all of the hotels in Evansville hosting soccer players were in the same predicament but that this was the ONLY hotel that charged teams for 2 nights when they only stayed one night. The hotel had signed an ?act of God clause? with the tournament. The hotel manager also left the premises as teams were finding out they couldn't cancel the second night and left the poor woman at the desk to deal with all of the upset customers. We have traveled both out of our city and out of our state to play soccer for at least 9 years and while we have been at tournaments that have canceled we have never had a hotel do this. I have never written a negative review about a hotel before. However, with Evansville hosting soccer state cup finals this year, I felt I should let other teams know that they should save themselves the headache and choose another hotel!
