This is one of the best, cleanest hotels we have stayed at. The location is accesible to most shops and restaurants; the room was kept clean and tidy everyday; the staff are very friendly; and the best part, their breakfast is excellent! Free breakfast with all these: hot biscuits, sausage gravy, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, mixed fruits, cereals, etc. Oh, let's not forget the best entry - their cinnamon rolls! It was fantastic! Staying at Holiday Inn Express was worth it. We will stay here again.

We've stayed at Holiday Inn Express in other parts of the country and by far this is the best one. Everyone on the front desk staff was very friendly with us as well as other travelers. (Must be the southern hospitality). The complimentary breakfasts were fine but the coffee was the best I've had in a hotel anywhere. ( I know it's hard to believe} The pool was closed du to construction but the hotel had passes for us to go to a local health club for swimming and working out. The hotel was very close to everything. We traveled about 40 minutes to TopSail beach, a very beautiful beach, and Wilmington is about an hour away. Also we went to Myrtle beach about 2.5 hour drive. We sere very happy with the hotel and it's location. We will stay there again for future trips to the area.

Our Stay from May 21 thru May 28 of 08 We were very surprised that this hotel would NOT give a percentage off for active Military personnel. My husband is a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. located at Camp Lejeune. In addition, when we confirmed our trip via Travel website we never informed that the pool would be undergoing construction for the entire season. The hotel was also being renovated (painting outside of our window) and no wheelchair access on these particular days. The in room phones were down and the wireless internet sometimes worked. But ultimately...... requesting to have our room cleaned at almost 2:00 pm and being told that we could not have the service. Then shortly after we received a phone call stating that the room would be cleaned. Then after the cleaning was done we were berated by a pregnant desk clerk who was upset that she had to assist the staff. This hotel is what you would expect from this type of franchise but is sincerely lacking in up front policy and customer service skills. Last Time Here! How dare they charge full price for a stay under these conditions?!?!?

Let me ask the question: when you pay almost "900.00" for a stay should you have to endure a hotel that misleads it's customers with a pool that is literally dug up and then truly testy staff members? But ultimately not compensating (discounting) our men/women who fight and die for our country and whose base is literally 7.85 miles from the hotel? This hotel is what you would expect from this type of franchise but is sincerely lacking in up front policy and customer service skills. Last Time Here!
