My family and I experienced a personal tragedy and needed to book a hotel at the last minute. We held a total of 3 rooms and as many as 5 for a period of one week. The reason for our stay was in the local news and management was aware of this. When we asked to speak with management regarding a discounted rate, he could not be bothered. We were told he was on the property but would not speak with us. The hotel staff, ALL but 1(the girl who booked our original reservations) were very unprofessional, did not seem to know their jobs, and were not at all courteous nor understanding of our situation. When we asked for a weekly rate, we were told we would be given a 9.00 discount. While many merchants in the local area offered their services free of charge or at a greatly discounted rate due to our situation ,this hotel offered the standard discount. I would think that a recognizable franchice such as Holiday Inn would be able to do more for it's customers, evidently this particular hotel was not. The room conditions were adequate but over priced. * a night for a VERY standard room is steep for this area. Because of the local Management/Owner of this hotel our family has vowed to rent a camp site before dealing with this establishment in the future. Other than the attitude, items in the room (high speed internet access) did not work. After reporting this approx. 6 times, we gave up. Final words, for the money, not worth it. Stay in Chehalis or keep driving to Tumwater/Olympia.
