Staff was courteous and friendly, although slow to respond at front desk on check-in and check-out. My room was non-smoking. No appearance of cigarette smoke. Room was spacious and had ample furniture. No apparent internet service. Felt fairly clean. King size bed was clean, but a little soft. Bathroom was most disappointing: Missing and worn molding, rust stains, nonslip mat in tub severely worn, toilet not secured to floor-rocked, sink too close to right wall--unable to stand directly in front of sink due to door, door hides and touches clean towels. Workmanship appeared to be that of inexperienced handyman. Tub stopper not secured and had to remove in order for tub to drain during shower. All other room furnishing appeared to be in good working order.

We arrived late for an overnight stay. First room was a floor level near the pool. Had an overpowering stale, moldy, smell. Walked to the bathroom and was met by several cockroaches on the bathroom floor and in the sink. Went to complain and ask for a different room. No apology was given and we were given a second story room. On the way to the second story we walked across the most disgusting dirty carpet I've ever seen in a hotel or home, and as a retired cop I can tell you I've been in some pretty disgusting places. It can't be cleaned it needs to be ripped up and replaced. In the middle of this hallway there was a broken down ice or cola machine lying on it's side. When we entered the hallway of rooms there were piles of dirty line in front of nearly every door on that level. It was about midnight but I have NEVER seen anything like this in any hotel or motel. The odor in the second room was only slightly less than the first one, (probably part of the practice of throwing wet towels and linen on the carpet floors) and yes during the middle of the night I encountered more cockroaches in the bathroom. The next morning I asked to speak with the owner or manager to tell them I would be giving them a negative review. I was given the desk manager and after explaining this to the desk manager I realized she could have cared less. No look of surprise about the cockroaches, no apology, not even an explanation of why all the dirty linen was in the hallways. Based on the mold, cockroaches, carpets, house cleaning practices and poor customer relations this place should be closed.

Evacuated from Hurrican Gustav from Houma (where storm came in). Stayed here 8-30-08 till 9-3-08. Storm hit this area also 9-1-08 power went out and room got soaked from rain under door. We stayed without power for 2 days (could not leave due to storm and no rooms anywhere). Asked for discounted rate for those 2 nights and was denied. REALLY HELPFUL PEOPLE HERE......NOT

We stayed here in October 2007 and they were remodeling or something. Couldn't get towels, the only ice machine was in lobby but broken, and the floors were horrible. Wouldn't stay there again unless they have really upgraded all the rooms. The locks on the doors wouldn't work and the cracks in the doors could let bugs in! UGH! I was afraid to close my eyes!
