Very well kept, clean property that was like a little oasis in the otherwise Third World-ness of the rest of the city. The only intrusion was the stray dogs that wandered the parking lot, but you get used to that very quickly when on an Indian Reservation (along with stray cows and horses). Apparently, if you live there and the animal belongs to you, it will come wandering back. The location of the hotel was great, since it sat on the edge of town, literally within sight of the Canyon de Chelly visitor center.

The minute I opened up the room, the odor of the place smelled like dead fish and hot trash. I had to open up the sliding door and turn on the fan to get rid of the smell that took a few hours to ventilate out. Turns out whoever cleaned last and/or stayed never flushed the toilet after he/she used it. Just lovely! It would've been nice if the room came equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave for the price you paid (not sure if there are higher priced rooms have this option). The room on the other hand was clean and tidy. The continental breakfast delivery option to your room is a bit of a joke and very overpriced as they charge nearly $ for a piece of toast, juice and fruit when you can go down into their restaurant and they offer an all-you-can-eat buffet for $(not sure what they offered). Overall, the place is okay at best if you need a place to stay after visiting the Canyon de Chelley. There is very little to do around town at all so be sure to bring a laptop to take advantage of the free internet access in the hotel and bring things to amuse yourself.
