Nice hotel and Decent location

PROS: Room was very nice- remolded, clean. Bedding comfortable. About 8 miles to Salem which is where we spent all of our time. Several resturaunts close to the hotel. Pool was very nice, clean and so was the gym. CONS: They had construction going on that made the parking lot a little crazy. Staff was average- they werent informative at all. We came that weekend to spend time in Salem for all of the Halloween events. The Haunted Happenings, which is a month long of halloween related events in Salem, should have been a highlight for the staff to mention. And they did have literature about the events. Luckily this is what I was there for so I knew about it. Also, there was a room with breakfast being served every morning that nobody bothered to tell us about so we missed out. And our room was right across from the Ice machine so we could hear people getting ice and soda at all hours. Finally, the cleaning staff was loud early in the morning. We were awakened both days at 8 am with them talking in the hallways. All in all, I would stay again.

My family and I stayed for 3 nights to attend Halloween Happenings in Salem. It's a short drive to and from Salem but, navigation is tricky, we finally figured it all out on the last day. The staff were pleasant, hallways are clean but have a weird odor. Our room was odor free, clean bed and linens. The carpets are old and don't look clean. The bathroom had a few cracked tiles, and missing grout but were clean. The air conditioner/ heater was great, our room was comfortable. We ate breakfast in the hotel 2 mornings, it featured a nice buffet, one day we had to contend with a group of school kids that no one seemed to be watching. The second day was much nicer. If you are hungry it's a good value, if your kids eat toast and OJ, forget it. Overall it's a good value for the money.

Great Hotel
07/12/2007Lots of parking, short drive to salem, great value. elevator was archaic, and a free continental breakfast would have been nice, but no major complaints.
