We stayed there twice during the Thanksgiving holiday of 2009. We were traveling through on our way to Boise, Idaho from Long Beach, CA. I found the hotel on travel website and read some of the reviews. The price is what hooked me. Upon our arrival, which was late, we were greeted by a more than friendly front desk staff (which is nice after a 7 hour drive). The room was very clean with a little dated decor but the beds were comfortable. We were on the 1st floor. The walls seemed a little thin, could hear people walking upstairs. The towels were soft and they had two ply toilet paper (which is a rarety in some hotels). We ate in the cafe and found the food to be good. The restaurant staff ( were very friendly. Well worth the price. We would recommend staying there.

We stayed here to visit the Lehman Caves. I was worried about the selection of hotels in Ely, but I took a chance with the Prospector and was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool. I liked the free internet. Really no complaints.
