Our roomhad a nice terrace, spacious bathroom, and pullout sofa for the kids. The garden areas were beautiful! There were also several nice dining options, but they are overpriced. The pools were also nice. Being winter time, we stuck to the heated outdoor pool. There is a second outdoor heated pool with a great view of the Dead Sea, but it was closed for a private function. The hotel offers a supervised kid's play area for about $20 USD a day. You can drop off and pick up throughout the day as needed.
Now for the cons... While luxury seems to be a goal, customer service is lacking. The staff was friendly enough, but they were simply unable or unwilling to address problems with a customer oriented attitude. Within minutes of settling in I spotted a roach in the room. This was the first of a few we found in our room. The response from staff was that they are a to be expected since I was on a ground floor room. We also had a roach crawling about at the main restaurant during a meal. The manager was embarrassed, but other than killing it no comps or apologies were offered. Another major problem we had was a flooding bathroom. No water could be run in our tub without it all draining directly on the the bathroom floor. Maintence requested a room transfer for us. Since the hotel was booked the only room available was not large enough to accomodate us w/o a rollaway. So, we opted to stay in the leaky room and use the stand alone shower. However, we were still charged the full quoted price for the room, with no allownce being made for the problems. Next time, I think we will try a different resort!
