We enjoyed the Hotel...but could use an infusion of new capital. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant on site was pleasant but was expensive for what was served. It was well located to all the sites in the area and near many restaurants and grocery stores. Not the Hyatt, but neat and clean.

Stayed at this hotel many times before and always enjoyed it, but not this time. Just returned today (6/21/09) from a 2 night stay and really did not enjoy our stay on this trip. My husband and I along with our 18 year old son stayed together in 1 room. I was told there was an additional charge for the 3rd person. What was this charge for? We got to our room and there was only two sets of towels. We were also given and ADA room which accommodates disabled people. The hotel was not full, and we are not disabled. I don't know why we were given this room. What if someone who is disabled really needed the room? The double beds were more like twin beds. My husband and I both have back aches due to the small size of the bed. We had to sleep in one position all night. Our bath had no shower head holder. We were forced to hold the shower head between our knees while we lathered our bodies and shampood our hair. There was a huge seat in the shower that we had to move into the living area since we are not disabled and do not require this seat. We had no sofa in the living area while our other family members in other rooms had one. Our toilet ran all day/night. We had to keep lifting the cover to close the flapper manually to stop it from running. We often travel to Kauai but will not stay there again.

Room was comfortable, but with an old TV. Sliding patio doors would not lock, but 2nd floor location made them relatively inaccessible. This didnt make my wife feel all that more secure. Young locals tresspassing in the pool and no staff noticing and chasing hem off.

It is centrally located. Rooms are very out dated but clean. The popcorn ceiling in our first room was coming off and falling on the floor. The bed springs were poking our back. The class sliding doors were filthy and tough to open. The front desk was friendly and changed our room with marginally better bed and no falling ceiling. However, because of its old design (early 70?s), rooms are spacious. Make sure you rent a car because the hotel dinning is expensive and dreadful. The dinning room was always empty; usually not a good sign. Good location, friendly staff, outdated rooms (some falling apart). I won't comeback until this place goes through a major renovation. For few extra $$ you can get a better deal.

If you want some place that all you need is sleep, this place is fine. However, if you have some sort of a ""RESORT"" in mind...don't go. When we arrived, the elevator didn't work, the vending machines didn't even have water in them, as they were empty! So upon going to the front desk, oh, big suprise, they didn't even have water there. We arrived hoping to spend money and go out on the deck of the local bar/eatery,only to find out that it was CLOSED!! So we went down to a snack bar and were greeted by someone who was bleaching the floor while cooking our grilled cheese sandwiches and bottled beer. WELCOME TO THE RESORT! The toilet didn't work, however, the hotel didn't care. We left the resort and switched hotels. Totally do the kayak trip up the river though. It's the best part. We don't remember the outfit, but we met at 7:00 a.m. and did the 4-5 hour trip. They packed our lunch, led us up the river, took us to the falls, and then led us back down. That was the best part. Please, don't stay here. It's not fun
