  We went to Matamoros over spring break with out 3 children ages 10,13, and 15. with all the news lately people thought we were crazy, but we have friends there and knew better. The Hotel Plaza was the best! for foreiners like us who barely spoke the language, it was perfect! There is always someone on staff who speaks English and the staff is very friendly and helpfull. The owner, gave us directions to the best restaurants in Matamoros. The location could not have been better either! One block from the downtown shopping plaza. The only time we even moved our vehicle from the EXTREMELY SECURE 24 hours a day parking lot at the motel was to travel to the beach one day. Let me emphasize again...EXTREMELY secure parking. I never felt more safe, so was grateful to have had a great time while staying there! The room was very clean, nice and cool. The pool was absolutely gorgeous, quiet and relaxing and the restaurant was very good as well. We Thank the staff of Hotel Plaza Matamoros for an excellent vacation!!
