The clerk lady was very, very nice. This is a quaint little motel, very clean - the maid cleaned every day. The room was efficient for our stay. The shower pressure was good. The only thing wrong was a little musty smell because of so much rain in Maine when we stayed that week. This was a good value for the price. We didn't spend much time in the room as we went sight seeing every day.

If you like the old fashioned motels of yesteryear, then this is for you. I remember motels like this back in the 60""s. It was probably redecorated in the 80's though. It was a beautiful location on the coast of Maine. It had a beach but it was low tide so it was very rocky. The beach didnt look like the one in the picture. We had a nice deck to look out on the ocean. The bathroom had to be original. There was wall sink with no place to put anything. The linoleum was peeling up at the edges. You had to do the limbo to rinse off your hair because the shower head came out to about chest level. There was a charge for the wireless internet and no continental breakfast. When we left early the next morning the very nice lady in the office commented that people were getting an early start out this morning, but I didn't have the heart to tell her that the bed was so uncomfortable we couldn't stay in it any longer and the man on the riding lawnmower at 8:30 am were a couple of reasons to leave. We were happy to have a place to stay, we only booked it the night before but it was extreemly overpriced for what they offered.

We spent almost a week at Coloninal Gables this year and loved it. Had a great cottage with great views of the ocean. They have the most wonderful beach, with nightly bonfires and a play area for the kids. We discovered it two years ago and just had to come back again, as it was everyone's favorite. The gardens are beautiful!!! While we were there, the dogwoods were in bloom as well as catnip, roses, viburnum (I think). But the place was even better than we remembered it. We will go again.

I have been vacationing here for over 30 yrs. I just took my newborn there for the first time, She's the 4th generation to vacation at this warm and friendly spot. Rooms may be a bit small, but the view is amazing, the community is always nice and friendly. Nightly bon-fires give the opportunity to meet nice new people from all over the country. Located close to everything. (eat at "Anglers" on rt 1 just North of Searsport). Definately a nice relaxing getaway.

We stayed for a week and had two cottages. The family loved it. We are working on our plans for 07 now. We were close to everything that this wonderful part of Maine has to offer. Nightly marshmellow roasts by the water. Day trips to Mt. Desert Isle and Camden. There were other families with 3 gererations like ours enjoying this quaint and friendly place. We were overjoyed to find it. There were people we met who had been coming to the cottages for over 25 years. WOW!
