Poor choice - won't stay again

I chose the Courtyard because of the Marriott name but the company should be ashamed of this hotel. I had a late flight into Seattle so it was close to midnight by the time I checked in. The front desk clerk acknowledged me but then stood 2 feet in front of me doing paperwork for several whole minutes before checking me in. My room was very small but would have been fine except for the loud and persistent clicking comingfrom the mini-fridge. I called down to ask for a room change and was given another room where both the mini-fridge and the microwave were clicking. I went back to the front desk to check out if they could not find me a quiet room, but the clerk sent a building engineer up to the room instead to unplug the fridge and microwave. So I ended up with a quiet room but could not have used the conveniences if I'd wanted to (fortunately, I didn't). The indoor pool looked inviting but the chlorine from it hung heavily in the air in the whole wiing of the ground floor where it was located. My last complaint is minor, but annoying. This hotel (and others near it) describe their location as "Alderwood Mall", but the mall is actually a couple of miles away. I had business right across from the mall so was looking for a closer location- my fault for not mapping it.

Took a little too long at checkin since group of kids from Canada on some team were checking in ahead of us and there were not enough staff to handle it. Would like to have known such a group was coming when we were but they did put us 2 floors above them. Recently redecorated rooms were very clean, very good beds and sparkling bathrooms! Would stay again when in the area.

Took a little too long at checkin since group of kids from Canada on some team were checking in ahead of us and there were not enough staff to handle it. Elevator racket ALL NIGHT LONG!
08/20/2006Hotel was fine. staff was courteous but unhelpful. the bed was right next to the elevator shaft and when i asked to be moved three times, there was no help. ...
Hotel was fine. Staff was courteous but unhelpful. The bed was RIGHT next to the elevator shaft and when I asked to be moved THREE times, there was no help. Not even the offer of earplugs. Found out from one of the staff that the manager (who did not even return my call) actually sold the only room I might have changed to. I won't stay there again. Although, I ended up getting a suite for the price of a regular room, it wasn't the deal I was looking for.
