My wife and I just got back from staying 8 days at the resort. Overall, the experience was positive - beautiful grounds, great view of the water, loved adult pool, very clean room/pool/shops and the staff was pleasant and helpful. Great all around. Things I would have like to have changed - pillows were the super soft ones where your head sinks in which are not that comfortable to me and room temp was bit on the warm side (set to 65 but obvious that room temp was never below low to mid 70s - not sure if temp is regulated by the resort) woke up few times in evening very warm. Would love to come back to this resort in the future. Tip - for snorkelers, great in front of the property. Upclose encounter with few sea turtles....incredible experience

If you travel and expect first class accomodations, this is NOT the place to stay !! Rooms are not nice, beds are way too soft, staff is MOST UNCONCERNED!! the attitude is they are doing you a favor by allowing you to stay there. From check in to departure the best thing was the valet attendants, they were great. EVERYTHING has a charge, rooms were not made until 3 or after, NEVER more than 2 towels and there were 3 in the room, repeated that daily, our room "didnt qualify" for qtips when requested, Front lawns beautiful, very deceptive, back side and room view DEAD foilage abounds. Payed extra $100 for additional 3 hour checkout time then they wanted us to change rooms. What a joke. We had email confirmations from the concierge service of all dinner and activities that had been made for us .Upon arrival, NOTHING had been done ! The had asked for our room amenity selections which had been returned (food items upon arrival), HOW EMBARRASSED was I when told that since my husband was not in the room, they could not provide the amenity. (He had booked this trip for me and 2 of my girlfriends) this was noted on the reservation. NOTHING about this hotel said RESORT! LUXURY! or FIRST CLASS !! the business center is MOT expensive, check airlines somewhere else I will spend the extra money and stay at the four seasons or grand wailea next time.

Stayed at the Marriott in Wailea for 10 days. It's a great resort. The pools are nice, and the staff in all the areas were very helpful and nice. The rooms are nice and large, plenty of room with 3 or 4 people in the room. The poolside service was great for drinks and lunch. Would definetly return to this resort. Only negative thing, is that people don't know how to park in the lot and would take up 2 spaces.

Our family of 4 just returned from our stay at the Marriott Wailea Resort. While our overall experience was very good, we did miss having a beach front resort. This property sits on a bluff overlooking the ocean. The grounds feature large grassy park like lawns with plenty of chaise lounge chairs. The property is very family friendly with 5 swimming pools, however with younger children, it was a bit of a chore walking to the neighboring beach daily. We don't fly all the way to Hawaii to sit by a swimming pool. This hotel also has only 1 real restaurant on the premises which serves breakfast and dinner. The poolside bar is also the only option for lunch. After day two, we felt like we'd max'd out our resort meal options. And in Wailea, your meal options are then limited to high end neighboring hotels like the 4 Seasons and The Grand Wailea Resort or an even higher end shopping center called The Shops at Wailea. The nearest town is about a 5 mile car drive away. The staff is extremely friendly, polite and efficient. Other than the beach proximity and the meal options, I would highly recommend this resort property.

The resort is ok, it's not that great when you compare it to other ocean front properties in Maui. The rooms are recently remodeled but already tired, very basic and definitely not what you'd expect for a luxury get away. I've stayed about about 7 different properties in Hawaii and I'd say this one ranks near the bottom. The reasons are the room primarily and the layout of the resort. We were in Hale 6 which has tremendous views but was so far from the lobby and our car that it was exhausting just getting from one place to another (and this coming from someone who loved the Hilton on the Big Island which is huge). You just need to be part billy goat to appreciate this property's layout. The room itself was very standard. Not luxurious whatsoever. Outdated TV, generic bathroom, etc. I would say the pillows were great. Bed was uncomfortable and gave us both back pain. The pools. Beautiful but lacking in shade. There are a few areas you can get shade and when they are taken you have to go for one of their rental spots which have shade. Yes folks, you have to rent spots by the pool (small little pods with shade ($25) or cabanas ($100). I just think it's wrong to have a resort in Hawaii where guests can't get shade unless they want to pay extra. The Hawaiian sun is unbelievably strong and unless you are olive-toned you are going to burn if you stay out in the sun for any length of time. I wouldn't say this place is bad, but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.
