PRICEY YET VERY NICE

LOVED OUR ROOM EVEN THO IT FACED THE GROUNDS. STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. NOT AS EASY ACCESS FOR TOURS AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. POOL AREA IS BEAUTIFUL. BEACH IS NOT AS NICE AS WE HAVE SEEN IN CARRIBEAN. ARENAL VOLCANO WAS WORTH THE TRIP. DINNER AT VILLA CALLETAS WAS WELL WORTH IT FOR THE SUNSET VIEW ALONE. WILL PLAN TO STAY AGAIN.

The property is nice, and the pool is incredible, but the pool is the only reason to go there. I paid over $1,700 for 4 nights. Our view was of the parking lot. Buses woke us up throughout the night. It's a "Beach Club" but the beach isn't usable, it's made up of debris filled brown sand and dirty water. The marina is neat, but it's a long walk from the hotel. Food was average and the staff was friendly. We saw incredible wildlife in other parts of Costa Rica, but only iguanas, and a racoon in our hallway here.
If you have lots of money, and you want to sit by the pool, this is the place for you. Otherwise, you can see a lot more of Costa Rica for a lot less money elsewhere. -

Beautiful ... but everything was insanely expensive. If you are looking for the real Costa Rica then dont stay here. It was beautiful but very Americanized. You didnt feel like you were in Costa RIca until you left the compound. If you want luxury then stay here. Good place to come back to after day excursions. I felt very very safe here. The Los Suenos Marina was awesome. The Hook Up Bar is a great place to go for drinks at sunset! Go to the Hotel Villa Calletas a few kms away for sunsets. The place was amazing.

expensive...but worth it
11/25/2007I've been to jaco many times and have stayed in all types of hotels, from surf camps to the marriott....marriott rules....great pool and poolside food & drinks...............restaurants ...
I've been to Jaco many times and have stayed in all types of hotels, from surf camps to the marriott....marriott rules....great pool and poolside food & drinks...............restaurants are weak & expensive....even breakfast buffet sucked @$24USD WHEW!!!......room service food and service overall was great.............not really for young travelers ...boring.........lots of kids too, warm spots in the pool...........spa was great, massage, facial. etc, average hotel fittness center, tennis too.... x-tra charge for all. & everything...ALTHOUGH GREAT SERVICE....watch your tabs...hotel adds service + some sort of additional intentional overcharge., keep all your hotel charges......beach at the hotel is poor...better off going to hermosa some 10 miles south, black sand and deserted...if your watching your $ this is not for you....if you plan to spend a lot of time at the pool and going on hotel sponsored tours...... rush to book a room here
