When I stayed there at the Americas Best Value Inn Hotel in mankato, I had a pleasant stay. The staff was very welcomeing and helped me out. They were so friendly and kind to me. My room was nice and clean. The breakfast was good as well. It was set out each morning right at 6:00 am. They were very helpful in giving me directions to my destination. I liked the location, right by Mcdonald and the gas station. Good for walking distance. The trail leading to a nice park by the river is located right behind the hotel, nice for walking on warm days.I would highly reccomend this place to others.

Where to start - room is dirty, holes size 5x7 in carpet, used 8oz bottles of liquid soap and used 8oz bottles of aqua net body shower gel shared by whoever stays in room time after time(family style, and left in room for months), continental breakfast was only coffee, sour milk, 2 dry cereals, burnt waffles, honey buns (individually wrapped from walmart), bananas. No fresh milk, yogurt, juice, assortment of fruit or even toast or bagels or muffins or donuts. Smoke detector went off over 20 minutes with burnt waffles cooking and no one came to manager desk to remove burnt waffles. Unbelievably bad! I couldn't even have coffee due to the sour milk. Had to eat breakfast each day at McDonald's. Bathroom not cleaned first two nights. Dirty bathroom with multiple spiders and webs in bathtub, dirty desk surface, dirty table surface, dirty nightstand surfaces when I arrived; not cleaned for two days (only when I told hotel manager). Smelled moldy in room. Tiny old wall unit for air gave me asthma, so I couldn't use it. In three days, only saw manager at desk one time, and no one at desk before 9:30am. Never had Kleenex in room even after requesting it. Noticed when I left some rooms did have Kleenex. Towels small and rough. Pool was a joke. With how dirty hotel was, I was afraid to use pool. Never saw anyone else use it in 3 days either. Remote control for TV only worked sporadically. Power went out one night, causing alarm clock to not go off, so I was late for family gathering. Came back that night and alarm clock had not been reset. Not only am I unimpressed, I would worry about my loved ones if they stayed here. Bad news for all!

02/02/2007The motel was not clean, and very cold in the room. things were broken and the indoor pool was a joke. i would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
