We thought this was a good area, so booked it for three nights for our visit to the SEC baseball tournament. Night one was horrible - kids running on the floor above us until all hours. The next day should have been an indication at breakfast...the clientele seemed questionable. That night proved it....as we were returning from a long day at the ball park, we arrived at the parking lot with what appreared to be roaming gang members. I called another chain and made arrangements for our remaining night in Hoover. The manager asked why I did not call the police. Excuse, whose hotel is it anyway? He did give me a full refund and profusely apologized, but please, I have teens and no one was comfortable with the environment. Do not stay there...the hotel looks nice, but where are these people coming from?

Bad Service
07/01/2007I'll admit the breakfast was good and the room fair, but the bad service and the rude staff sure turned me off. this hotel was not worth the money.

First floor is smoking; therefore, all first floor smells like an ashtray, including front desk area and conference room.I had an informal business meeting at 9:30 AM. Breakfast area was locked and conference room smelled too bad to meet there. Room was sparse and not very clean. Evening desk clerk was hospitable and pleasant, but other staff and management need much improvement.

We came to Birmingham for the Bowl Game and was very surprised for the value. Our rooms were clean and the bed was great. It looked new! Good breakfast and convenient to good restaurants for other meals. If ever in the area again - we will be back.

Fairly new property in upscale area. Large rooms with kitchen & work area. Bed was dream for a weary business traveler. Great breakast buffet. Good staff. Fitness equipment wasn't all working but Ymca is a couple of miles away. I'll come back!
