This hotel on this site is terribly underrated. It's very clean, rooms nice size and all have a lanai, 2 swimming pools, security is very good, staff is excellent, friendly and extremely responsive to guests needs/requests. Very close to tourist sites and shopping as well as the ocean. The only downside to this facility is they do not have a restaurant, but there is one next door and plenty of others well within walking distance (one block to one block plus). The queen's palace is within walking distance and the 1st Christian church established in Hawaii is right across the street from the palace. The hotel has excellent and very competitive pricing. It is a very good value. If I return to Kona, I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel might be OK for a one night stay but not for a longer period of time. There are extra charges for parking. Extra charges for phone use even local calls. The hotel sits on two major streets and it is very noisy. Garbage trucks and other vehicles start in about 4-4:30 am. The hotel advertises air conditioning but it consists of a small window unit that is not sufficient to cool the room. Ice for use in your room is only available on the first floor at the very end of a long corridor with no other access not very handy if you are on the fifth floor. The bed was actually very comfortable. No on-site restaurant and the one the hotel recommended was very dirty, there were however good restaurants close by.

The Kona Seaside was a great, budget hotel that I'd definitely stay at again. It had a 70s feel because of the decor; it was clean, comfortable, and nice! The location was excellent too. It's practically 5 minutes away from restaurants and the shoreline. For those who don't plan to stay at a hotel all day, I'd highly recommend this hotel because it's definitely a deal! Of couse, if you want luxury and top-notch everything, you may want to stay somewhere else. However, for the average person who just wants a decent place to stay at, you'll definitely save money here.

We arrived at Supper time and the room was fresh and ready for us. We wanted a King Bed so we had to settle for a room in the Main Tower (Garden Side) which was fine. The Bed was comfortable and the room was Clean and Spacious. They accomodated us with a rollaway bed for a 1 night visitor and an extended checkout because of a late flight out. The staff was very courteous and friendly always. The location was GREAT, within walking distance to anywhere (Gift Shops, Restaurants, Sightseeing and right across the street from a Seaside Luau). The only downside was a $6.00 per night parking which for ""convenience and security"" wasn't worth complaining about. Definitely a return stay on our next visit.
